Question

I'm an online/distance student, graduate student or a faculty member, how can I have Library materials mailed to me?

Students who are enrolled in UW-Whitewater online degree programs are considered Distance Education (DE) students. These students are eligible for the same services as on-campus students, as well as others listed below. Graduate students and faculty are also eligible for these services.

Request from UWW in 1-3 days link

  1. Sign in to Research@UWW (upper right of search page, or My Account link)
  2. Use the Request link in the item description, or use ILLiad (InterLibrary Loan)
  3. Indicate in the Comments/Notes field of your request that you are a grad student, distance education student, or faculty
  4. Provide your mailing address in the Comments/Notes field
  5. You are responsible for returning the item to UW-W at your cost. It is strongly encouraged to obtain a tracking number if you are mailing items back to the library and to ensure there is sufficient insurance should the package be lost or damaged during the shipping process.

undefinedUse your UW-W HawkCard to borrow items while visiting other UW System Libraries. Go to the library's website to see the policy for UW System in-person visits.
 

A DE or graduate student or a faculty member may also place a request for scanned journal articles or book chapters from physical items owned by UW-W using Document Delivery.
            These will be delivered via UW-W email. Watch this video tutorial to see how to do this.

Articles:

  1. Find the article in Research@UWW
  2. Select the We Can Get it for You! (Document Delivery/ ILLiad) link
  3. Log into ILLiad
  4. Verify the info in the required boxes, plus fill in any additional information you know
  5. Enter your graduate or DE student status or faculty status in the Notes field
  6. Select the Submit Request button
  7. To log out, click on Logoff link

Book chapter:

  1. Have the title of the book, the title of the chapter, and the year the book was published handy  
  2. Go directly to the Illiad login
  3. Select Article or Chapter under New Request
  4. Fill in the required info, plus any additional information you know
  5. Enter your Grad student or DE student status in the Notes field
  6. Select the Submit Request button
  7. To log out, click on Logoff link
  • Items will be made available online in about 2-4 weekdays
  • Your item received notification email will include download instructions
  • Print or save documents to your own files
